With the summer season beginning, the increase of foot traffic around downtown is also picking up. Drivers, please watch your speed (20 mph on Missouri Avenue) and be alert. Parents, please educate your kids on how to cross the street safely.

All dogs that are kept outside must be kept in a secure enclosure. Tied up outside on a leash is not allowed. If a dog is running at large and all means of capture has failed, then the animal will be destroyed according to ordinance. When walking your dog, please don't let your dog do it's business on other people's property, city light poles, alleys, or sidewalks. Obviously, sometimes it’s uncontrollable. So carry a bag, pick it up and dispose of it in the proper manner. Violations of the city's dog ordinances is a $50.00 fine plus court costs.
