The City of Alma has an elected council of five members and a mayor. Elections are held every two years, on odd numbered years, with the mayor and two members being voted on in one election and three council members in the other.

The city mayor is Maurice Baker and the council members are Pam Bales, Joel Fager, Paul Gronquist, Dan Deiter and Gary Lesline.

Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month at City Hall at 6 pm. If you wish to be put on the agenda to come speak before the council, you must contact City Hall no later than the Thursday before the next meeting. Public comment is at the beginning of the meeting, with a 5-minute time slot being allocated. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings.

The bi-weekly claims reports shows all the bills that were approved for payment at the last council meeting. These, as well as the council meeting minutes, are public record. Current and past reports and minutes are posted on this site.
